I have an original family photograph of “Charles Zimmerman – Montello, Wisc.”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Montello is in Marquette Co. Photo is a postcard and was taken in about 1915. In this photo are a man and wife, and five who surely are children. The parents are around 50 years old, and the children are two males (ages 25 & 22), and three females (ages 18, 15 and 10).
I searched the Wisconsin censuses for a Charles Zimmerman, and found a family which matches perfectly. In the 1905 census for Marquette Co., WI, I found William Zimmerman (41), wife Minnie (42), children Wm. Jr. (18), Hulda (16), Herman (15), Martha (13), Charles (11), Minnie (7), Anna (5) and Eller (a girl, age 2). If you add 10 years to the ages of Herman, Charles, Minnie, Anna and Eller – this group matches those in the photo exactly.
