(This is Wade Yarbrough who is the son of Joel Yarbrough and Sally Sledge).
Some of their children are found in Alcorn Co. Mississippi later on.
Wade was married twice his marriages were: Elizabeth Ann Tankersley and Martha Jane Turner. Married Martha on Dec. 24, 1835 in Warren Co. NC.
Martha was born 30 Nov 1817 and died 27 May 1840 ? in Lumpkin Co. GA.
Their son Andrew Yarbrough, was born 21 Feb 1850 prob. Lumpkin Co. GA., and died 29 Sept 1930. Andrew is buried in Mtn. View, Mo. at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Andrew married Julia Ann Whittemore.
Julia's father was Elisha T. Whittemore and Ann Craige and they are buried at Sardis Cemetery, Alcorn Co. Miss. Elisha and Ann were married: 6 March 1849 Cherokee Co. Ga. Elisha was married 1st to a "unknown" Coward and hadthe following childreN: James N. Whittemore, Emaline Whittemore who married Wade's son,Thomas Yarbrough.
Elisha's children with Ann Craige were: Julia A. Whittemore, Sarah Whittemore who married Albert Garney Toller and Wm. R. Whittemore who married Mary Elizabeth Nash. Wm. and Mary Yarbrough may have removed to Texas.
Andrew and Julia had the following children:
1. Eliza Ann Yarbrough, b. 1872 prob. Alcorn Co. Mississippi-d. 1923, m1) Silas Hargrove, m2) Gordon Cox.
2. Pearl Isabella Yarbrough, b. 1875 Alcorn Co. Mississippi, d. 1923 Arkansas, married: Andrew Denton.
3. Charles Yarbrough, b. 1878 Alcorn Co. Mississippi?-d. 1944, married: Dora Hope
4. Betty Lee Yarbrough, b. 1880-d. 1971, married: Willia Champbell.
5. George Rowland Yarbrough, b. 1884-d. 1959, married: Rena Elizabeth Hunt.
6. William Thomas Yarbrough, b. 1887-d. 1951, married: Pearl Weed.
7. Dora Emmaline Yarbrough, b. 1890-d. 1933, married: Hershall White.
8. Bertha Mae Yarbrough, b. 1893-d. 1981, married: Lee Walter Flood.
9. Joel Wode? Wade Yarbrough, b. 1897-d. 1951, married:
Millie Stone.
Wade's son Thomas Yarbrough married: Emaline Whittemore.Thomas was born 3 Nov 1846, prob. Lumpkin Co. Ga., d. Jan 11, 1905 either Alcorn or Prentiss Co. Mississippi. He married Emmaline Whittemore, b. 25 Sep 1844-d. 12 Mar 1919. They are both buried at Piney Grove, Prentiss Co. Miss.
Their children are:
1. Andrew Quillen Yarbrough, b. 8 May 1869, d. 22 Dec 1897.
2. Julia Ann Yarbrough, b. 29 May 1871-d. 25 Aug 1887.
3. Melissa Jane Yarbrough, b. 3 Jun 1873, d. 11 Jan 1952.
4. George Walter Yarbrough, b. 17 May 1880,-d. 5 Jun 1948.
5. Sarah Agnes Yarbrough, b. 16 Apr 1883, d. ?
6. Verna May Yarbrough, b. 17 Jul 1885, d. 1916 Questionable sibling.
7. James Newton Yarbrough, b. 27 Jan 1887, d. 16 Nov 1902.
8. Ernest Own (Owen?) Yarbrough, b. 27 Jul 1888, d. ???
May have bee more children not listed.....
