I am one of a group working on an official history of the Wisconsin 23rd Regiment . One of our men was Walter Wall who enlisted 26 Jan 1864 at Lafayette Twp., Monroe Co., WI
He was mustered out 21 Jul 1865 He was taken prisoner 8 Apr 1864 at Sabine Cross Roads. He was a POW at Camp Ford, Tyler, TX & transferred 1 Jul 1865 in to hte 35th WI Inf.
This is all the information we have. If you can help us fill in any of our blanks we would be grateful.
The format we are using is as follows: (We have their service record)

Post-war achievements: Include membership in organizations, offices held, church affiliation, etc.
