Vinson Family Genealogy Forum

First of all, I would like to apologize for my last message. I realy am not illiterate but I wasn't paying much attention that day, obviously. Herewith is the Vinson line from which I believe I descend: William Vinson-?/John Vinson -1667, wife unk./Thomas Vinson 1660-1713 md. Sara Jones 1655-? (I also have about ten generations of her ancestry going back to England and Scotland)/ Thomas Vinson 1696-1764 md. Isabelle Vinson-she died 1760/James Vinson 1765-1797 md. Eunice/Unity (maybe Fuller-died 1713)/David Vinson 1767-1831 md. Mary Polly Futrell 170-1830/Edmund Vinson 1819-1874 md. Harriett McClain 1820-1854/James Stokely Vinson 1840-1922 md. Sarah Eliza Jane Barnett 1847-1925/Marcus Edmund Vinson 1873-1943 md. Elsie Mae Hilger 1877-1969/Grace Juanita Vinson 1900-1989 md. Charles Henry Middleton (1891-1985)-The last named were my grandparents.
I believe "olean B. Hilger" must be Napoleon Bonaparte Hilger, Elsie Mae Hilger's brother. He died about 1940. He served in General Pershing's expedition into Mexico in pursuit of Pancho Villa in 1916 and on the Italian front in WWI. He was md. three times and was a prominent store owner in Pangburn, Cleburne Co., Arkansas for many years. I'm not sure I have anything acessible on Elmer Rufe Vinson although I do know the name. I am not new to genealogy but I am new at getting things organized. I've been gathering material for 40 years and am only now trying to get it into some coherent form. You asked about the Hilgers-They go back to "Rheinish Bavaria" and emigrated from Mannheim to Arkansas in 1832. Johan Hilger's wife's name was Yingling or Juengling, a name still found farily frequently in this area so I speculate that they may have been accompanied by some of her family. Hoper all this helps. I have several fairly ewxtensive family trees under my name on ancestry.com.
