Stephen Vincent, Pasquotank Co NC 1698

Trying to discover more about Stephen Vincent (his marke) whose Will was proved 18 April 1698 by John Billett and his wife Al-?--(her marke). The Billetts were witnesses to
the writing of the will on 26 September ----.
The will doesn't list a county in NC, but I have written
'Pasquotank Co' on my copy of this will for some reason. The will was found in the loose papers in the NC Archives. It is very hard to read; Stephen's wife was Mary, and it appears that others were named as "my wife's child -----," Richard was one, cannot make out the others. North Carolina is mentioned and land. The clerk's name appears to be Edward Mayo--?-- or perhaps Mayo Cler. Would be interested to know if anyone else has been able to decipher this old document. plvtenn@bellsouth.net
