Our family is located in Kentucky and is researching the Harris family tree. My brother, Robert Bailey Harris was named for his grandfather Bailey Peyton Harris, whose father was Gideon Harris (born 1828 in Bedford Co. Virginia area. Gideon Harris' father was a Thomas Harris (born 1803-1804). Thomas Harris is the son of William Harris (born 1757). William Harris married Theodocia Thorpe. William Harris 's father was a James Harris of Cumberland Co., VA.

William Harris might be brother to your Robert Harris. We have a list of all of William Harris' children if that would be helpful.
