James and Lucretia Norris Montgomery

James and Lucretia Montgomery migrated from Washington Co. VA to Greenup Co. KY in 1873. They had a son, Thomas King Montgomery, and a daughter Louisa. Thomas King married Sarah Ellen Davidson . After years of searching I have not found another researcher of this family, nor can I determine the parents of James. Family tradition says two brothers came from Ireland as stowaways. Their family sent them a load of linen to sell, but it had been sold as unclaimed freight by the time the letter telling them about it reached them. Has anyone else heard this story?
