I took a look at the 1870 Lawrence Co. AL census and found Harriett living with her mother, Sarah (Sallie) Bracken. However, her name was Harriett Horton and also living in the household was her young daughter, Sarah Horton. I went to the www.familysearch.org site to see if there were marriage records in the International Genealogical Index search. I found this information: Harriett N. Bracken married A. J. Horton, 22 May 1859, in Lawrence Co. AL. Harriett Horton married W. H. Tucker, 8 March 1872 in Lawrence Co. AL. Both of the above records were extracted locally, meaning they were taken from microfilm of the Lawrence Co. AL marriage index. It is very possible that Harriett’s first husband was killed during the Civil War. Notify Administrator about this message?
