Jane (Larcome) Tucker

Jane Larcome, widow of Capt. Samuel Tucker, married 2nd,
John Pleasant Sr.(1644/45-1698)in Henrico Co., Va. in
February 1670 and it was also recorded in York Co., Va.
on 29 November 1670. Samuel and Jane had one child,
Mary Tucker, who married John Woodson III. John Pleasants
Sr. and wife, Jane, lived on his plantation in Curles,
Henrico County and started the first Quaker meetings in
Virginia. Jane continued holding the meetings, as a
minister, after her husband died. She and husband, John
Pleasants Sr. had several children.
"Pleasants & Allied Families" by Norma Carter Miller and
George L. Miller, is now out of print, but the Quaker
meetings are found in The Ency. of American Quakers, by
Hinshaw, Vol. VI, Va. under Henrico Monthly Meetings.
John Pleasants Sr. was born in England.
