The SSDI shows that the James Terry who died in Houston in 1965 was born in 1894.
A search of the 1930 census results for a James born approximately that year provides just a few results. The closest is for Wichita Falls, Wichita, TX:
James P. Terry age 37 (born Mississippi, white, married at 25, manager of a warehouse (?), father and mother born in Alabama)
Allie K age 37 (born Mississippi, married at 25, father and mother born in Mississippi and Alabama, respectively)
Mary Katherine age 10 (?) (born Mississippi)
Ann age 8 (born Mississippi)
The "P" in James' middle name is mostly a circle; same for the "A" in Allies name.
Does any of that look correct?
A search for the same in 1920 doesn't seem to produce any results where the wife has the right name. A search for 1920 doesn't seem to produce any with the right birth place for the parents.
Alternatively, a search for James Terry with those dates of birth and death produce family tree on ancestry.com that shows a James A Terry born 2/12/1894 in Texas to Aaron Terry (1838-1905) and Malinda Isophene Eubanks (1873-1956). But wife is Virgle T Toumbs (born 1903). Child is Wilburn Edward (1922-1982).
Is that any closer?
