Hi Judy. I also have been looking for documentation for the parents of Abiah Sweezy. I do not have any documented proof, but she is most probably the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Parshall Sweezy. Here are the reasons I believe this is true. First, Abiah is the right age for a daughter of Richard and Elizabeth. Abiah named her first son 'Richard', maybe after her father. Richard was the only Sweezy family that stayed in the Riverhead/Aquebogue area during this time. Richard's brother Samuel moved to NJ, and his brothers Joseph and Stephen moved to Brookhaven in the 1750's. And finally, both Abiah and Richard Jr. belonged to the same church, The Old Steeple Church in Aquebogue. I would like to exchange information with you about Abiah and her family.
