Roger Stacy, 67, formerly of Appalachia, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning (Aug. 19, 2007) at Life Care Center of Gray in Gray, TN. He lived most of his life in Appalachia, VA, and had lived in Dryden, VA, for the past year. He was a shift supervisor for the Mulligan Lumber Company, with 42 years service. He was a member of the Andover United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lesa Stacey; his parents, Cecil and Ollie Mae (Keen) Stacy; and a sister, Sue Starnes. Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Shirley Stacy; one son, Jim Stacy of Appalachia, VA; one daughter, Connie Stacey Head of Big Stone Gap, VA; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Leroy Stacy, of Big Stone Gap, VA, and Danny Stacy, of Appalachia, VA; one sister, Donna Seabolt, of Big Stone Gap, VA; several nieces and nephews two step-sons, Eddie Hensley, of Carter's Valley, TN, and Tim Hensley, of Norton, VA; and one step-daughter, Lavida Culbertson, of Norton, VA. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, VA. Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tony Nunley officiating. Committal services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession. Pallbearers will be Tim Hensley, Eddie Hensley, Todd Peck, Rodney Peck, Charlie Culbertson and Charles Culbertson.
