I am looking for information on William J. Schwartz B.Oct 28, 1845 Baden, Germay. D.May 25, 1900 Louisville, Ky. This is from Bible records.
I found him on the 1870 census as living in Spring Garden Precint with a wife name kate and a dau three months old. His occupation was a florist.
He joined the Civil War Army in Ohio, 60th Ohio Infantry, Company A, under the name of William Sanders.
His Civil War Pension Index Card has him listed as William Schwartz, with Linden and Sanders as aliases.
Kate being from Ky. as a widow, in 1900, filing for his pension. The card also has Anna from In., as a contesting widow. Which is true he did marry Anna Hiibel Linden and had some children by her. One is my G-Grandmother
I found him again in the 1890 Ky. city directory as being a florist under the name of William Schwartz.
