I am looking for any information on S/Sgt. MAX SCHWARTZ who served as a radio-operator on a B-17 bomber during the Second World War. His aircraft came down in the northern Netherlands on December 11, 1943, after which Mr. Schwartz spent several months in German prisoner of war camps. From several sources it is known that Max Schwartz was born on May 17, 1909 in Manhattan-NY from the marriage of JOSEPH SCHWARTZ and REBECCA APPELBAUM. Likely Max Schwartz passed away in New York-state in August 1982 (SSN-number 083-07-2770) Max Schwartz had two brothers named WILLIAM SCHWARTZ (born 1903) and HAROLD W. SCHWARTZ (born 1907). He also had a sister PAULINE SCHWARTZ (born 1917). In 1930 the Schwartz family lived at 1554 40th Street in Brooklyn-NY. Six years later (1936), Max Schwartz was moved to 1158 55th Street in Brooklyn-NY. Several members of the Schwartz family worked in the textile -industry. Harold Schwartz was a corset salesman. Max was a clerk and buyer for Abram Seide Inc. in New York. I hope to get in touch with any of Max' descendants.
