My family line fits your description. John and Sarah Ann Preslar (Presley) from Jefferson County, NY moved to Onterio (eventually in Spry Township by Marmora)and John died there. Sarah and their daughter Emily Larmonth returned to Jefferson County and Emily was married and widowed in Jefferson County. She later lived in Sault St. Marie and was buried in Clair County (according to her obit, she had "family" there). I have her death cert and a few other articles about her. I know her daughter lived in Detroit and her son was, I believe, an attorney. Sarah died in Jefferson County, but prior to her death she applied for a pension for the death of her son Marshall who died of illness in the Civil war. There is a lot known about John's family, if that is your line.
