Looking for information about the ancestry and family of Sarah Pressley, born about 1765. Sarah married Levi House (b. 1754 MD), a half-Shawnee veteran of the Revolution.
Levi entered the military from southwestern PA, and they seem to have continued to live in PA until some time after 1785, when they moved to KY, possibly Harrodsburg. Levi's stepmother was Nellie Harrod House, sister of the founders of Harrodsburg. Anecdote says that she was born in KY, but several of her children said they were born in PA, so her birth in KY seems unlikely, unless Levi travelled to KY, took her back to PA, and returned several years later to KY.
Around 1810, Levi and Sarah settled in Jefferson County, Indiana, and Levi ultimately died in the home of his daughter in Ripley Co IN. We aren't sure when or where Sarah died. We can't seem to find any likely Pressley families to associate with Sarah. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Regards, Jim Patrick - tambaymar<at>aol.com
