As a hobby I rescued old photos that have identification on them. I picked up a framed (frame was a newer wreck so I discarded it), portrait of a family. This was taken mid-late 1800s. All of the subjects are adults and they're seated around an older couple-mom & dad. Dad is old with white hair & a white beard. All of the adult couples are mid 20s and older. I don't think any of the older couple's grandchildren are in the photo. They are identified as: 1-Aunt Minnie Scott (3d) Lester-husband son Walter. 2-Uncle Tom (2nd) Maria wife, Anna, Rori, Effie, Fred, children. 3-Aunt Emily Wm. Porter Husband-No Family 4-John Charles (I don't think this is a surname?) Elen Jane wife-Norman, Harold, Vira children. 5-Aunt Maggie (6th) Theo Beach Husband, Percy son. 6-Uncle Jim Mary-wife, no family (8th) twin 7-Aunt Kate Richard Porter Husband, Emiliy-Minnie-Eva 8- Aunt Lottie (oldest #1) Chas. Arthur Waite husband, Cecil-Bert 9-Uncle Will (8th) Twin Maggie Hillman wife, Emily=Dorothy-Gertie-Percy In different handwriting is written: Grandfather-Thomas Daniel (Called T.D.) Grandmother(Jane Porter?) This is really a stunning piece of family history. I wish I knew where it was taken. I found it at a flea market in Michigan. Where it originated from, God only knows? (Unless it rings a bell with someone here?) The one upper right corner is bent, but it doesn't distract from the photo (it's placed in the center, as if it's matted.)
