Sorry for the sketchy info, but I'm at a dead end.
I'm looking for my 4ggrandfather, William Osgood who was married to a Porter.
Their son, Charles Erwin Osgood was born in NY abt 1853. According to Charles' death cert (birth cert not found), his parents were William Osgood and an "unknown" Porter.
Family history has it that this Porter was of Indian descent, but I've got nothing else but stories. Supposedly William was born in NY, but I have nothing on the Porter wife.
I don't know if Charles had any brothers or sisters, but he must have had at least one sibling. He married Effie Jane Hulsaver of Canajoharie and they had three children: Charles E, Effie Alberta, and Leon. Charles E never married, Effie Alberta married into the Brownell family, and Leon married into the Spencer family from Pennsylvania. Charles had a nephew (according to the 1880 census) named George
Does anyone have any information on any Porter that was married to a William Osgood?
