From the Healdton Herald published at Healdton, Carter Co., Oklahoma: August 20, 1964 Mrs. Beulah Ponder Nordman Funeral services will be held Friday at the First Baptist Church at Healdton for Mrs. BEULAH C. NORDMAN, wife of W. H. NORDMAN on Kewanee St., who died at the family home Wednesday morning following an extended illness. She had returned home Sunday from a hospital at Ardmore where she had received treatment. Conducting the service will be Rev. WALTER WELCH, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. J. O. HUDSON of the Freewill Baptist Church at Clemscot, long time family friend. Burial was at the Graham Cemetery arranged by Collier-Reser Funeral Home with relatives serving as pallbearers. Music was provided by the church choir directed by GERALD JONES, church music director, and by Mrs. AUSTIN EVERETT as soloist. BEULAH C. PONDER was born in Montague County, Texas Feb. 27, 1896 and died at the family home Aug. 19, 1964, age 68 years. She had lived in the Healdton and Graham area since 1900 and was a member of the Baptist Church at Graham. She and her husband, BILL NORDMAN, operated the Corner Café here. She was a member of the pioneer western Carter County family, the PONDERS. Survivors are her second husband, W. H. NORDMAN; four sons, JAMES B. BRISCOE of Snyder, Texas, WILLIAM BRISCOE of Alma, OLEN B. BRISCOE of Oklahoma City, and JACK BRISCOE of Healdton; one daughter Mrs. LENORA MCGEE of Ardmore; four brothers ANDY PONDER of Carnegie, CECIL and VON LOREE PONDER of Hominy, EVERETT PONDER of County Line; her mother Mrs. MARY PARILEE PRUITT PONDER of Healdton; four sisters, Mrs. ZELAH CHANCE of Graham, Mrs. TINA JOHNSON of Baldwin Park, Calif., Mrs. WINNIE PIERCE of Graham, Mrs. DOROTHY GARRETT of Velma; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Among the stepchildren; CARL NORDMAN of Wink, Texas, Mrs. SYLVIA BAILEY of Maysville, Mrs. LONA EMBERLIN of Healdton, Mrs. SYBLE PIERCE of Kingsville, Texas, Mrs. BILLIE FORE of Fox, Mrs. BETTY HENDERSON of Pruitt City, and Mrs. BARBARA SMITH of Wichita, Kansas.
