Paul,

My family is from the old province of Suwalskie. Two of the surnames you have in here are in my lineage, but I know they are from within today's borders of Poland. I have one cousin, who claimed on a record to have been born in Grodno. It could be that he was in that province because it did cover the city of Bialystok and other parts of eastern Poland.

There are old parishes in Belarus today that covered this eastern part of Poland, and people have not been able to find any records.

I think you need to backtrack with the person, who gave you this data, and have them go back to the person who gave it to them. This could prove to be very valuable for many researchers. Do you think you could do this so we could know in what parish these records were recorded? We would also need to know where this book can be found. Has it been filmed by the LDS. Is there a State Archive in Poland, which has this book or a diocese? Having the names is great, but knowing where they were recorded and where the book is would be most helpful.

Thank you.
Tina Ellis
