Mary Pierson/Person married Isaac Olmstead 1779

I am looking for information about the following couple who are listed in the Redding Connecticut church record as marying on April 15, 1779. In that record their names appear as below.

"Isaac Olmstead (soldier) and Mary Persons"

Isaac was a Continental Soldier and later lived in Wilton, Connecticut. Mary probably died before 1793, since Isaac remarried that year. They are alledged to have had at least one child together, Daniel born on March 9, 1780, possibly in Wilton.

Three years earlier in the same Redding church, a Jonathan Persons had married an Elizabeth Thomas. I looked these two up on familysearch and found that Jonathan was also known as Jonathan Pierson, and that he was born in 1751 and died in 1818 and was the son of Mary Bates (b. 1720) and Jonathan Pierson Sr. (1716-1775.) I wonder whether my Mary may have been a sister to this Jonathan (b. 1751).

Does any of this look familiar?

Thank you for your help.

Phil
