Frank Lloyd (aka Frank Lloyd Pierce)

It's come to my attention that my great-grandfather used the name "Frank Lloyd" a great deal. So much so, that I'm starting to think that it might've been his real name. I'm trying to prove or disprove this.

Frank Lloyd (Pierce) was born in Ireland (poss. Dublin) December 8, 1849/50. He married Sophronia Elizabeth Waldrip on 22 Feb 1889. They lived in southeast New Mexico and Brown County, Texas.

We have Frank's father's name as William and his mother's name as Ann(ie), both of them born in Ireland, as far as we can tell. He apparently did have siblings, but we know nothing of them.

Frank came to the United States in 1863. He told his grandchildren he ran away from home and was a cabin boy on a ship from Ireland.

Some family history leads me to believe his family MIGHT have been in Canada.

Does anyone out there have a Lloyd or Pierce family that's missing a 13-year-old boy in about 1863?
