Pierce, NC to Cape Girardeau Co MO

My ancestor George W Pierce was born in NC in 1827 to John Pierce. George died in the Civil War. John died in Cape Girardeau County MO in 1844. His heirs are listed as Eliz, Rachel, Mary, James S, Rebecca, Geo. W, Wm W, & Jesse Pierce. In Census records, these people all came from North Carolina. I would like any information to connect them to other Pierces in NC. What County they came from, anything. I have a lot of Southeast Missouri information on this family to share.
