I am interested in your John Pearce because I believe he might be a brother to my Elizabeth Pearce who married James Greer. James and Elizabeth were newely married when they were listed in 1790 Richmond County, NC. A widow Rebecca Pearce was also listed nearby. Eliabeth was born about 1773/74. James ande Elizabeth were in Stewart County, TN before 1807. I believe as early as 1804. They both died in Benton County, TN. My Greer, Ward, Rushing, and Gaddy families are all connected. John and L.D. Pearce are living in Ouchita Co. Ark. by three of the sons of Philip J Rushing and Penniah Gaddy. William Hillard, Roland, and Darling Rushing were all listed near John. John lived in the early census in Humphreys The area became Benton 1836 and 1840 Benton. I don't have the census handy but I believe that he listed on the same page as my Wards, Rushings, and Greers.
