My Pierces were in Coosa County Alabama at least as far back as 1835 until a little after the Civil War. Have a William Pierce born ca 1790 married to Mary "Millie" Meeks with sons Richard and Bennet born in Alabama (Hatchett Creek area of Coosa County). Bennet married Margaret Gaylor in Coosa County, 1861, fought in 53rd Alabama Infantry.
