My connection with the Alabama Pierces would be from my maternal side of my immediate family. My mother's father was John Pierce, dob: abt. 1870, dod: 1921 in VA; he lived primarily in NC throughout his life, but died in VA. I also believe I have found a connection to John May Pierce 1814 (SC) - 1856 in Lowndes, AL; 1836 married Anne Dunklin and also died in Lowndes, AL. Parents of John May Pierce were said to be John Pierce and Jerusha May Paisley, both of who lived and died in Lowndes, AL. The original family members I believe originated in SC, and over time migrated to AL. I have always been told the name May was a family name on the Pierce side (from way back) which leds me to believe I am possibly on the right track. One of my mother's brothers was named Franklin May ...

Do you have any family info to share?

Thanks.

J. Wells
