Yes, I now see I was misled. I'm sure it must have been inadvertent. But the erroneous info is still on the internet & out of my control.

Even in my own family, many years ago, fiction seems to have prevailed over facts.

It now looks like my maternal line was just an ordinary, E#uropean settler lineage - nothing to do with the French Fur Trade, etc.

For the record, my mitochonrial DNA tested out to be (FTDNA lab): U5b2. Maybe someone of the Paquette maternal line could also have their mtDNA tested and shown on this forum?

Somewhere, in my on-line searching, I ran across another Alma Green(e). She lived in Wisconsin around the same time, I think. But I don't suppose she had any conection at all with the Paquette family.
