This would've been Pierre Paquette. The burial took place at Portage in Columbia Co., Wisconsin Territory in 1836. The church was the first building, a small log structure, that housed St. Mary's Catholic Church, and Pierre was supposed to have been responsible for building it. It burned and Pierre's body was moved to another location. The details of this story are a bit tangled--the Brisbois child buried with him was his grandchld, son of Pierre's daughter Theresa and her first husband Michael Joseph Brisbois and was buried with him when his remains were removed from the first gravesite to the second. Still later Pierre and the child were moved to final burial in St. Mary's Cemetery at Portage. Pierre's father-in-law was Josph Crelie, my ancestor. Will be happy to share info...
