April 28, 1887 but I do not have his papers.

according to one of Emil and Mary's sons,
Mary's father was a captain in the Union Army, he later became a county judge at Pikesville, KY and broke up the Hatfield and McCoy feud. apparently Mary was of German stock, and from Clarksville Ky.
I have some courthouse records and census records regarding the Palmquist family, but still need death certs, etc. The two sons of Emil Leonard were very kind, but I didn't want to bother them very much as they are elderly, and in poor health. The oldest one is 87 year old and just celebrated his 69th wedding anniversary.
