In New York State, copies of birth certificates are available only to parents, the individuals themselves, and their direct descendants (proven by their birth certificates and their parents' birth certificates, where appropriate) until seventy-five years have passed. At that point, anyone may purchase a genealogical copy of a birth certificate. http://www.nyhealth.gov/vital_records Notify Administrator about this message?
