Many thanks for that.

I looked at this on the US Census:-

It looks like it could be a family of sisters living together with William being the son ( illegitimate?) of Margaret H Rossiter.

I did consider the possibility that William the father born 1815 had remarried but William the son's birth details do not reflect that.

Also found another sister Mary Alice Rossiter born Albany who married Charles Silliman.

Just wondered if it is possible to find William born 1815 and Hannah P Murdock in the 1850 census please?
