Poland to Volhynia

My G-grandfather, Christian Neumann, left the area of Seidlce, Poland (on the Vistula River) around 1863, and moved to Volhynia Ukraine. There he married Eleanora Kalasch. The Neumanns lived in the village of Ostrowka in Volhynia (Wohlhysk), Ukraine. Their oldest son, my grandfather, was Johann Neumann; he married Elizabeth Albrecht and they had six children, my father Emil being the second youngest. He left Ukraine for Canada in 1929. All of his five siblings remained in the USSR, and many of their descendants now live in Germany. Many German Lutherans lived in Poland, and left for Volhynia in the late 1860's. A good source for background on Germans who lived in Poland in that time is the SGGEE website.
