We are seeking information on Neumann's related to our Neumann family from the village of Hanshagen.

Hanshagen (now known as Janikowo) was in the District (Kreis) of Preussisch Eylau, Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Gross Peisten, Catholic Parish of Landsberg, Office district of Glandau and Civil record office of Gross Peisten, East Prussia. Heilsberg was the nearest major regional town with Konigsberg as the capital city.

The following villages of Badze, Bogen, Borchertsdorf, Bucholz, Dixen, Drewenz, Finken, Frauendorf, Glandau, Grauschienen, Gross Kläussitten / Gross Kläusitten, Gross Peisten, Grossendorf, Grünwalde, Hoofe, Jegothen, Kohsten, Landsberg, Neuendorf / Nerfken / Neuendorf, Nowo Wies Wielka, Papperten, Paulen, Petershagen, Pudelkeim, Raunau, Reimerswalde, Retsch, Salwarschienen / Sallwarschienen, Sseefeld, Stabunken, Wbryny, Weischnuren / Weischmuren, Widdrichs, Woppen and Workeim were within 10Klm of Hanshagen. They are all now in Poland.

If you are a Neumann from any of these villages we maybe related.

My Neumann's immigrated to Australia in 1952.

Thank you.
Michael Neumann
