Has anyone ever heard of Mary Meade? She first apppears in America as the wife of Thomas Gillham (immigrant from Ulster IR about 1735 or earlier )and mother of four children: Charles, Ezekiel, Mary and Nancy Gillham before her sudden death in Orange/Augusta VA before 1744. She was killed by an intruder in the house between 1738 and 1744 it is believed there in Augusta or Brunswick VA. This Gillham/Meade family were among the earliest settlers in Calfpasture VA in 1736-1744 with associated relatives: William Campbell, Robert Gay (and several brothers), Margaret Lockridge (d. of James Lockridge and Isabella Kincaid d. of David Kincaid)Jacob Clements, and Robert Crockett. This group is also associated with Jost Hite, and Rev. Casper Stoever of these very early times. Both Thomas Gillham (Gillam, Gillum, Gilham, Guillaum, etc.)and Mary Meade are brick walls...really SOLID ones!! Does anyone know anything about this Mary Meade? Thanks so much for ANY tidbit of information... Donna Crosby Notify Administrator about this message?
