Dear McRae Family Researchers: I am assisting a McRae descendant in his application to join the Sons of the American Revolution, claiming Phillip Greene McRae (1755-1851) as his patriot ancestor. According to the History of Brooks County Georgia by Folks Huxford (1948, p. 521), Phillip was a Revolutionary soldier in North Carolina. I am looking for documentation to prove both of the following: That Phillip was in the Revolution. Do you have a muster roll, pay roll roster, or pension record? That Cornelius W. McRae (1816-1895) was Phillip's son (I need a will, probate record, Bible record, etc. In other words, primary documentation.) Please write to me directly: LaCornwell@aol.com Thanks for your help!
