Hello,
I'm trying to learn more about Mary McRae, born 8th September 1886 in Beith, North Ayrshire. The last record I have of her is the 1901 Census (Beith) where she is 14 years old and working as a French Polisher. I understand that she emigrated to America but have no idea where or when.
Her father was Angus McRae (born approx 1845; died 15th February 1900) from Beauly, Inverness-shire. Her mother was Elizabeth McColl (born approx 1847; died 26th November 1910) from Archattan, Argyll.
She was the youngest of at least 5: her brothers were John, Duncan, Alexander and Angus.
Any help at all would be very much appreciated. I live in Scotland and have plenty of information about this branch of the McRaes/Macraes and would be happy to share it :-) I even have a photo of Mary as a young girl.
