Cory I have different information on the father of Hugh Bain McRae. I am also a descendent of Malcom Alexander McRae. He is my gg Grandfather but not with Mary Whisenhunt, who by the way has a married name of Stewart.
My GGGrandmother was a Cherokee, she and Malcom Alexander had a son, Name Silas McRae born in 1834 in Carroll County, Ga. Her Name was Rebecca Bashey Bell.
Hugh Bain McRaes father, according to my records which may not be accurate either, was Kenneth McRae.
Kenneth McRae and Isobelle Bain had two sons, Alexander Bain McRae, and Hugh Bain McRae. Kenneth died on the way to the new country and Isobelle and her two sons came on to North Carolina, there she met and married Malcom McRae. This marriage produced at least three more children, a Daniel, John, and Mary.
This Alexander Bain McRaes son was the one that built up and named McRae Georgia, he was a Dr. there.
All these facts I cannot prove but neither can anyone else.
