Posting my own followup in case more info helps:
John McRae was born October 10, 1864 in Maxville. I think he was the son of John McRae and Ann Urquhart. Ann was daughter of John Urqhart and Christian McLennon. John (father) was son of Willaim Urqhart, U.E.L, born in Scotland, and married to Janet ? He arrived in Canada in 1783 and settled in Charlottenburg Township No. 1, Glengarry County, Certificate No. 3420, Ontario Archives, dated Quebec, November 24,1785.
