I have a lot of information on this family -- too much to post on this site. This family used the same names over and over again, so it gets confusing who is related to who, but I believe I have it straightened out as well as possible at the moment with documents to prove and would be glad to share with you if you're interested. Mattox Mayes and Dorcas Abney Mayes had several children, including a son, Abney Mays (name is spelled with and without the 'e'). Abney had a large family including sons Medy, Sr. (Meady; Meedy) and Mathew. One of Medy's sons was Samuel Larkin Mays (my gg-grandfather). Mathew had a large family including sons, Medy, Jr. (not a son of Medy, Sr.) and Larkin. I can send you more information if it would be helpful. Not at home with my files right now.
