In the 1880 Amherst census, Sidney, age 19, son of Annie Neville and William N Mays, is listed as a cousin with the family of Charles H. Wright, 41; his wife Mary Jane, 39; son Drury, 4. They are next door to Elizabeth Mays, 49, and son George Anderson Mays, 18. This Elizabeth Wright Mays was the wife of Anderson Mays, who may have been the son of either Anderson Mays Sr. or Cornelius Mays. I suspect it is the first choice. Both were sons of Joseph Mays Jr. and Jane Edmonds Mays of Amherst and brothers to Samuel Mays.

Is Mary Jane Wright, wife of Charles H. Wright, the daughter of Anderson and Sarah Mays, who first was married to a William H. Thomas in 1853? If so, it makes the case stronger for Anderson and Sarah being the parents of William N. Mays.
