I have looked over your postings and want to make a couple of comments/suggestions that might help you find your ancestors:

1) From what you have listed, and what I know (and have shared with you) about Benjamin Mays (b. 1806, son of John B. Mays), it really does not seem likely to me that he is the father of the two brothers you are tracing. (Unless the book I got my information from was inaccurate.) Perhaps the information you need is not available at this time on the internet and you need to try some other sources, such as searching microfilms available through interlibrary loan, or writing to courthouses for copies of record indexes.

2) Are you certain that the parents of these two Mays brothers were living in White County in both 1830 and 1840? Since the brothers were born in 1832 and 1835, is it possible that their parents moved to White County from elsewhere AFTER 1830 and/or moved on before 1840? If I were researching this line, I would explore those possibilities unless I had strong documentation that said otherwise (and even then, I might check elsewhere if I couldn't find the data I needed in White County).

3) Have you found the two Mays brothers on an 1850 census? They would have been about 14/15 and 17/18 then and most likely are listed with an adult. That adult's name might be helpful in searching White County (or any other) records. If their father was dead by 1850, you could look for guardianship records for minor children (if you can figure out WHERE he died, of course!).

4) If you are sure it is White County where you need to locate your ancestors, did the courthouse in White County burn? If not, are there records available that you might search, such as deeds, wills, probate, tax records, marriage record, etc?

I really do think you need to open up some other avenues of research; I believe this Benjamin is just a dead end for you. I hope something I have posted will help you find what you are looking for. Good luck!
