I am still trying to trace the ancestors of my great-grandfather John Jackson Mays, b. 1832 in White County, TN, and his brother Thomas Mays, b. abt. 1835 in White County, TN. Both men married (sisters) in St. Clair County, MO; John J. Mays married Elizabeth Sorrells in 1855, Thomas Mays married Mary Sorrells in 1856. Another Mays, John Daniel Mays, also married in St. Clair Co., MO (1852). Anyone have info on these Mays? Possible fathers are: Benjamin Mays and Martha Dale, Elijah Mays, and John Mays. Only Benjamin Mays was still in White Co., TN by the 1840 census. Help?????!!!!!
