How nice of you to respond to my query. I can see that I failed to make it clear what I was asking about, though. I have a vast amount of information about John B. Mays and his sons, although there is much I don't have, I am sure. For instance, I know all about Leonard's letter and which statements in it about his ancestors are true and which have been proved false. But I have never been able to document the name of the fourth son (the one you identified as Jacob, or Zene). At this point I am interested in more recent generations, however.

How are you descended from John B. Mays?

I am a descendant through James Gay Mays and his daughter, Sarah Ann, who married James Alexander Swink.
