I know they say his middle name was either lonzo or alanzo. His son william horace mays funeral records list him as alanzo.
His tombstone is in quincy cemetery in crockett county tn as elijah mays 1874-1937. He also shows in the 1920 census for crocket county.
I don't know if he was married before but the wife we know of is alma brooks.
They had three children one of whom was my great-grandmother anna mays speer. They also had a son named perry. I don't know if there were other children or not. I know his wife was married once before him and once after him. So.. it is possible that he may have been married before as well.
I have hit a huge brick wall with him because all the information I find has the wrong birthdate. my grandmother swears this b-date is correct though.
ANY help you could give me would me very much appreciated.
