MAY family of St. Joseph Co., Indiana

I'm looking for info. on a May family who lived in Mishawaka, Indiana (Penn Township, St. Joseph Co., IN) in the late 1800s to early 1900s.

I'm specifically looking for information on Mrs. Catherine (Katherine or Katie?) HARTSTEIN May who was the sister of Mathilde (Matilda) HARTSTEIN ZILLMER and Anna Maria Agnes HARTSTEIN BREUNLIN BAUMANN.

According to Anna Agnes Maria's obit. in the "Bremen Enquirer" 19 Oct 1916,
http://www.bremen.lib.in.us/historical/bpl_OBITdetail.asp?item=106822
Mrs. Catherine May (sister of the deceased) lived in Mishawaka, IN, USA. A John MAY also attended the funeral. John MAY could have been a husband, son or nephew of Mrs. Catherine May. I'm curious that "Mrs. Catherine May" is listed by her husband's first name. Perhaps he had already passed away?(maybe he had passed away quite some time before his wife did?)

Mrs. Catherine May is not listed as a survivor of Matilda HARTSTEIN ZILLMER when she died 6 Dec 1926.

So Mrs. Catherine MAY would have died sometime between Oct. of 1916 & Dec. of 1926.

I would like to know if the two families are related. I would also like to know if the Katie MAY listed above is the Catherine/Katherine MAY from the obituary. I don't have much reliable info. about the MAY connection & would like to know more. Details about MAYs from the St. Joseph County, Indiana area would be helpful.

Thanks!

Sarah

P.S. I would be happy to share Hartstein info. if you need it. Three Hartstein sisters immigrated from Germany to northern Indiana. Their uncle Georg (George) Hartstein & his family was already living in the area.
