May and Williams families of Mansfield Louisiana

Looking for relatives of Emmitt May and Dolly Williams, who lived in Mansfield, Louisiana during the late 1800s and had 4 daughters. Oral family history says that Emmitt May owned a hotel and was French. (Don't know if "French" means actually from France or of French descent) Dolly Williams was a woman of color. Thanks in advance for any help.
