Dear Stephanie, thanks for all your help. I am checking out the information you sent. I did find an old obit about Olaus saying he was born in "BIRIDAHL" Norway.I couldn't find a place named that in Norway (even on some old maps) so I am guessing the newspaper has it spelled wrong. I am going to check the norwegian records for places that are spelled or sound similar.
