If the boy b 1800-1810 who is with Jane in 1820 and 1830 is a son, that's a problem since Rebecca Harmon and Joshua Lacey married in 1815 (unless she was previously married, maybe to an Evans since there was some confusion around her surname?) The 1880 Shelby AL census has Rebecca born ca 1787 so she would have been 25 - 28 when she married Lacey and could easily have had an earlier family.

If the 1850 and 1880 censuses are right, though, then Rebecca was still in KY when son Richard was born ca 1818, but was in AL by the time daughter Angeline was born ca 1821, again in AL when Mary was born ca 1827-30, Harriet b ca 1829, Martha ca 1834 and James E ca 1839. And it's consistently Jane in KY and Rebecca in AL. I suppose she could have traveled back and forth visiting family, but it doesn't all add up easily.

This one is a mystery, but it does look like almost all of the 10 kids I've seen listed for Gen Edward (with the exception maybe of Samuel and Jane, but I'm hoping Jane at least went as well) can be placed in either Jefferson, Tuscaloosa or Pickens AL in the 1820s and 30s, through land records and by proximity to one another. Hopefully someone on this forum can solve the Joshua riddle.

Ed
