Alice Blakemore married Richards Howard Lacey on February 11, 1873, probably in Loudoun County, Virginia. The Bible was given to her by her little cousins Maud and Daisy Richards on Christmas day of that year. Sadly, she died on October 22, 1874 in West Point, Nebraska, having given birth to Harry B. Lacey on March 19, 1874 in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1880 Harry was living with his grandparents Thomas and Eliza Blakemore in Washington, Missouri, but by 1900 he had moved to New Orleans, where he died on April 24, 1918.

According to Mormon records Richards Howard Lacey was the son of M.H. ( possibly Meschack ) and Mary ( possibly Richards ) Lacey and was born on August 1, 1856 in Loudoun County. In the 1870 census for Loudoun County, he was living in the household of Jessie Richards, who was a cousin to my Richards family. In 1880 he was a widowed miner living in a saloon in Fairplay, Colorado. He married Emma Hoffman on January 20, 1885 in Virginia. They had a daughter, Jessie, born June 5, 1886. By 1900 Richards, Emma and Jessie Lacey had moved to Los Angeles, where he was the Deputy County Assessor. My Richards relatives had also moved to Los Angeles by that time. I have still not been able to work out all the connections with my Richards family of Loudoun County, Omaha, Colorado and Los Angeles.

Does any of this tie in with your Lacey family?
