I glanced in a book at a friend's place last week about the history of Cooke County, TX (Gainesville is the county seat). Sam was there many years and must have been very prominent. His wife was a member of the highly esteemed Bird family. He organized and was the first chairman of the Retail Merchant's assn. for Gainesville in 1910, planning and running a very successful carnival-fund raiser. His daughter,Helen, was quite a belle, attending dances at the country club and other organizations. I'm going to ask him if I can borrow the book and look it over in detail. Sam must have gone back to TN after 1910.
